Serving Lobster for Valentines Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and, as you might guess, I will be creating a special lobster dinner to celebrate the occasion.  Lobster is a great choice for Valentine's Day for a variety of reasons.  For many people, lobster is viewed as an indulgent, luxury food. Splashing out on lobster for Valenitne's Day creates a sense of occasion.  Lobster is also a brilliant aphrodisiac. The meat of a lobster is rich in low-fat protein which naturally boosts levels of two brain chemicals  -  dopamine and norepinephrine -  that heighten sensitivity.  Lobster is also full of zinc which is beneficial for boosting the male libido.  And if that doesn't get the heart racing, the bright red color and sweet, succulent taste of lobster surely will.

I plan on making a lobster newburg, my husband's favorite dish, this Valentine's Day.  The lobster newburg recipe I use comes from my grandmother and is as simple as it is delicious (especially important as I'll be cooking while juggling the needs of my five month old twins and three-year-old daughter).  I'll serve the newburg with petit pois and blanc de blanc champagne.  I can hardly wait.
