The Best Lobster Shacks and Lobster Rolls in Maine

The news and the internet have been awash recently about Maine lobster shacks and lobster rolls. This year's May/June issue of Yankee magazine has a feature article on the best lobster shacks in New England, with half of those listed based in Maine.  The Boston Globe has also recently written about New England Clam and Lobster Shacks and last week Maine was featured heavily in the 2012 Taste Table's competition for the best lobster roll in America (officially called The Lobster Roll Rumble).  All this talk, coupled with a 2010 Travel and Leisure article on The 10 Best Lobster Shacks in Maine, has prompted me to begin compiling my list of Maine's best lobster shacks and lobster roll eateries.  At first I wanted to keep the list to the "Top 10" lobster shacks/lobster rolls but I've ended up with 20.
