This year I'm beginning to notice a bit more hype around lobster in London. Not Maine lobster per se but lobster in general. The opening of
Burger and Lobster certainly has helped raise public awareness and I'm sure I'm more tuned into lobster, given my
book and blogging. This week alone I have seen three nods to my favorite crustacean as I've gone about my daily business.
The first lobster sighting was an ad in the Evening Standard newspaper promoting Portland, Maine with what else but a shot of a nice big lobster claw.

The second sighting was an ad in the tube station promoting Bordeaux wine and the 'good foods' with which you'd want to pair it. I thought it was a fun, iconic lobster graphic.

Finally, my husband brought me home a bag of Burts lovely lobster chips (crisps for the Brits) the other night. According to the packaging, they are back 'by popular demand' and contain 'lobster powder' as an ingredient (which I assume is some sort of lobster reduction/stock with powdered lobster shells). I've enjoyed them this evening with a glass of wine and they're pretty good.

Looking forward to having some real Maine lobster in several weeks when my family comes to visit!
I really liked it.
