Lobster. The Elixir of Youth?

Eating lobster has some great health benefits.  I've always known it is an excellent source of lean protein (with less fat and cholesterol than chicken breast) and I recently learned that eating lobster is a wonderful way to boost your iron.  Now I've read that lobster might even be the the elixir of youth.

A recent Daily Mail article highlighted a variety of studies on the food supplement glucosamine, which is often made from the shells of shrimp, crab and lobster.  One study found that glucosamine made mice live nearly 10 percent longer.  Another study showed that glucosamine appeared to protect against several common causes of death, including reducing the risk of dying from cancer and respiratory disease.  Glucosamine used in skin creams even appears to have an anti-aging effect on the skin.  One study found it to reduce the effects of sun damage while other studies showed that glucosamine may stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen, which keep the skin hydrated and plump.

And I thought lobster shells were just great for making lobster stock! If you want more details, here's the link to the original article.
