This past Saturday I attended the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival and was reminded of how beautiful and friendly this fishing village is. Growing up, I visited Winter Harbor many summers by boat, as I accompanied my father to the Winter Harbor lobster boat races. This summer it was nice to take in the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival by land.

Winter Harbor Lobster Festival: Steaming Lobsters |
The lobster dinner is a central part of the festival. This year, around 900 pounds of lobster was served to lobster lovers. The dinner ran from 11:00am until 3:00pm and was packed the entire time.

This year, for $15, diners were served a steamed lobster with drawn butter, corn on the cobb and fresh bluerries with cream.

Bargain lobster rolls at the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival |
You could also fetch a lobster roll for the bargain price of $6 at this year's Winter Harbor Lobster Festival. When I went over to check out the booth they'd run out of lobster meat.

The main street and harbor of this fishing village are quaint and beautiful. Sadly, due to morning fog, this year's Winter Harbor boat races were cancelled.
